Who Put the Fire Out?
High on a hill in San Francisco, my second mother waited in a hospital bed to be discharged from UCSF-Parnassus. She had been there for 12 days, and the ride home to the Central Valley would be by ambulance because the pain of sitting upright in a car for four hours was something she could no longer tolerate.
Good Enough
A lack of skill has never stopped me from churning out the work. As I age, I marvel at my ways more than despair, and “good enough” has become a motto I stand by.

I have a Tesla problem. In April 2016, I bought 10 shares of Tesla stock for funsies at $239 a share. This was right after the Model X was manufactured, but I was more interested in their home battery storage units and thought that was a smart, efficient way to give homeowners a way to store solar energy. Seemed visionary and good for the environment, so why not play with a mere 2,400 bucks that wasn’t doing much in my retirement plan anyway?
